Access To Farms Code of Practice

The Purpose of Code of Practice

Cornish Farm Experiences is operating under the Access to Farms Code of Practice.

"Every year millions of people visit premises where members of the public, particularly children, are encouraged to view or touch animals.

The purpose of the Access to Farms Code of Practice is to help ensure visitor health and safety by providing sensible, practical and proportionate guidance on preventing or controlling ill health at visitor attractions."

Please read below prior to booking your Cornish Farms Experience with us. We have tried to make it as simple as possible for you and there are notices at relevant points across the farm to remind you what to do.

If you have any questions at all please do get in touch.

Welcome to Cornish Farm Experiences

When you arrive please wait by your car and ensure you are appropriately dressed with footwear that can be cleaned.

Tanya will come down and greet you.

Please note:

  • NO FOOD OR DRINK BEYOND THIS POINT
  • ALWAYS WASH YOUR HANDS AFTER TOUCHING THE ANIMALS
  • NO PRAMS OR PUSHCHAIRS ARE PERMITTED BEYOND THIS POINT

You will see this sign when you arrive and park your car.

Do Wash Your Hands

It is very important that everyone washes their hands. Wash thoroughly with soap and warm water after you have touched animals, fences or other surfaces in animal areas.

Please do supervise anyone in your charge to ensure they wash their hands thoroughly.

Do not put your fingers in your mouth or on you face whilst petting the animals.

Do not use anti bac gels or wipes as it is advised that they don't remove all the dirt and germs.

You will see this sign to remind you to wash your hands.

We have you and your family's safety in mind.

Please do not bring any extra personal effects on to the farm in case they drop on to the floor or you handle them straight after touching the animals.

This includes items such as hand bags as they may be put on the ground, toys, and vapes.

We keep our farm as clean as possible however can not guarantee it free of germs.

We also highly recommend bringing a second dummy if your child uses one as we are advised to dispose of any dummy that falls to the ground to ensure your baby's safety.

Please Do Not Touch

If you see this sign then please, do not touch the animals near it

Like some of us, some of our animals need a little more space.

Do Wash Your Clothes

Do wear appropriate clothing and footwear on your visit and remember to change once you are home and wash your farm clothes on a 70° wash.

We recommend wearing old clothes and sturdy footwear that can be either cleaned or washed.

Do Wash Your Boots

Do wash your boots or shoes before leaving our farm.

We recommend bringing separate footwear for the farm.

Thank you for visiting us and following our rules to stay safe and well.

We look forward to seeing you again soon.
